Effective 5/20/24:
The BCPE web site is evolving, and with this evolution, we must retire the current online application form.
Beginning June 25, 2024, all applicants will need to download and complete the Word version of the BCPE Application found in the Application Forms section of our Documents page. Email your completed application and any supporting documents to our Executive Assistant, Heather Walston.

Associate Certification:
If you meet our educational requirements but DO NOT have 3-years of work experience, consider applying for our Associate Certification. Associates have 6 years to get the required work experience and work samples before applying for the Professional Certification exam. Associate candidates need the following documentation to complete the online application:
The name of your HFES-listed Graduate degree program.
OR, Course details showing the required 24 semester credit hours (or equivalent) from another institution.

*Official transcripts must also be sent to BCPE office after application completion.
Professional Certification:
If you meet our educational requirements AND have 3-years of work experience, and can provide work samples, then consider applying for Professional Certification. If approved, you can schedule to sit for the exam. Professional candidates need the following documentation to complete the online application:
The name of your HFES Listed Graduate Degree Program.
OR, Course details showing the required 24 semester credit hours (or equivalent) from another institution. *Official transcripts must also be sent to BCPE office after application completion.
Documentation of 3-years' full-time
or equivalent part-time Work Experience in HF/Ergo/UX
Work samples demonstrating use of our Core Competencies (Analysis, Design, Integration) in your work.
If approved you can schedule to sit for the Exam.

ASSOCIATE TO PROFESSIONAL Transition
You can transition from Associate to Professional Certification by completing a transition application. The following documentation will be needed to complete the transition application:
Documentation of 3-years' full-time
or equivalent part-time Work Experience in HF/Ergo/UX
Work samples
demonstrating use of our Core Competencies (Analysis, Design, Integration) in your work.
If approved you can schedule to sit for the Exam.
