Continuance of Certification

It is important to maintain your certification.   Continuance of Certification (CoC), also known as recertification, tells  the world you are serious about your profession.  It shows that you are aware of current developments in the field and that you are up-to-date with new information.  A recertification process is best practice for  certification bodies and required for accreditation.

Individuals holding full Professional certification (CPE® or CHFP®, ) must submit CoC evidence every 5 years. This 5-year cycle is consistent with the review of the core competencies of the profession.

The CoC Worksheet (docx)  provides guidance on completing and submitting your completed  worksheet. Your certification number is provided in your Certificant Profile if needed.

You will receive an email reminder at the beginning of the month your  worksheet is due. Please submit your completed CoC worksheets to the  email provided on the worksheet. Certified professionals must delineate  professional activities in at least 2 of 5 areas amounting to a minimum  of 100 points over 5 years. The five areas are:
